Life is just so daily.

I have to agree with Mary Engelbreit. Life is just so daily. I am feeling it today as I ease back into the semester grind. Okay, maybe “ease” is not the right word. It is probably more appropriately characterized as “a frantic gallop” (and visually I think that captures it as well).

Oh, don’t get me wrong – I love my life. This is, after all, the life that Carol built. I love having classrooms full of new students and all the potential a new semester holds. But my time management and organization skills…yeah, well those need to be taken up a notch if I am to survive the daily grind. Typically at the start of the semester I am at my highest level of performance, but the building issues and office displacement have thrown me off. But I have no room to complain on that front as others who have/had offices in Minard are worse off than me. Improvise – adapt – overcome…that has to be the motto for the semester.

So, here I go – ready or not. Before I know it I will be skidding into May and sad that the time has seemingly flown by…it is amazing how that happens. Time flies even when it seemingly plods along one day at a time in the moment.

I do know one thing though, having met the students in my classes already, it is going to be a fun semester! So, let the races begin – you’ll see me on the outside lane in a frantic gallop. I probably, won’t win the race, but I’ll finish it having given it all I have.

And in case you were wondering, yes, that is me in the picture above…can’t you tell by the bright orange hair color?

Day one hundred and ninety-two of the new forty – obla di obla da
